Ms. Steinlauf is the Managing Director of Briggs Capital’s New York Office.  Ellen specializes in the Business Services, Software and Technology sectors including Professional Services and Human Capital Management. She represents industry players as an intermediary in Merger and Acquisition & Investment Banking transactions, including raising cash for funding as part of a strategy for growth.  At Briggs, Ellen works with privately held firms and family owned businesses assisting them with growth strategy, exit strategy, valuation services, partnership transition, and succession planning.  She is adept at developing and executing strategic plans for immediate and sustained growth and formulating exit strategies and succession planning for transactions with outside parties or with remaining partners and/or family members.  Ellen also works with Private Equity firms to identify and assess ‘industries of interest’ and helps PE firms target specific investments, assists with due diligence and with closing deals.

Ellen has had 25 years of experience in Financial Services and Professional Services sectors as an operating executive. During her career she has held various executive level positions in premiere investment banking organizations including Director - Morgan Stanley where she managed global teams; VP -Goldman Sachs, London where she ran technology throughout Europe for the firm; and as MD - Bankers Trust where she was one of three executives that managed Retirement Services.  As a Partner with the NY Financial Services practice of Accenture (Andersen Consulting), she started up and grew a highly successful Northeastern Region Investment Management practice.  She was Senior Vice President Strategy / Business Development for Capstar, a Corporate eLearning consulting services firm, jointly owned by Sterling Venture Partners and Education Testing Service (ETS) and successfully sold to Thomson Corporation.  Ellen was responsible for the formulation of Capstar’s business plan, overall business strategy, go-to-market strategy as well as managing business development, sales and marketing.

Ms. Steinlauf is also the Founding and Managing Partner of Piermont Advisors, LLC [Piermont] a strategic growth and advisory firm specializing in assisting privately held middle market companies with immediate and sustained value creation.Briggs Capital works very closely with Piermont Advisors. 

Ms. Steinlauf earned an MBA in Finance from Rutgers Graduate School of Management.
