Jeanne Barreta, VP Marketing

Jeanne Barreta comes to Briggs Capital Real Estate with over 20 years of experience in acquisitions, asset repositioning, sales/leaseback transactions, 1031 exchanges, real estate securities, consulting, and business development.

Prior to joining Briggs, Jeanne developed a successful real estate consulting practice, where she leveraged her business and transactional experience to work with individual investors and equity partners.

As Vice President for Conroy Development, a Boston metro real estate development firm, Jeanne was responsible for a portfolio of over $300 million. She was actively involved in asset management, acquisitions, sales, leasing and financing.

Prior to that, Jeanne served as a Senior Real Estate Specialist for the FDIC. There she oversaw a $1 billion commercial/investment real estate portfolio of the former Bank of New England, which included acquisitions, disposition, and repositioning and loan workouts. She was also responsible for dealing with congressional inquiries regarding the disposition of assets and worked directly with high-level officials in conflict resolution. In addition, Jeanne handled the affordable housing program, working with local and federal government officials to ensure fair and equitable implementation.

Jeanne’s other related experience includes:

• Senior Executive and licensed Securities Principal for a national firm. Jeanne managed 80 securities agents specializing in the sale of real estate limited partnerships.
  
• Senior Vice President of a Texas-based real estate firm where she was responsible for the sales and leasing of over 1 million square feet of commercial investment property, specializing in sales/leaseback and 1031 tax-deferred transactions.

Jeanne is a licensed real estate broker who was awarded the prestigious CCIM designation from the National Association of Realtors and was recently selected to join the CCIM faculty. She is also adjunct faculty at Northeastern University where she taught Investment Analysis. She graduated with honors from Emmanuel College with a degree in Business Administration. She is on the advisory board for Public Action for the Arts and Education and was recently awarded the coveted “Muse Award” for her contribution to the organization. Jeanne also enjoys reading, dancing, hiking and skiing.
